I don’t have time quite yet to read the whole thing, especially as I should very much like to read the full essay – as Reed has said, I like to punish myself with my reading.

I thought that I might point you to an essay of ++Rowan Williams’ in his “Anglican Identities” book about “Anglican Interpretations of St. John’s Gospel.” A great essay. Apparently there have been several important examinations of the 4th Gospel by Anglicans, Westcott’s in particular is a classic.
